The First Alert Z-Wave Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector Alarm is an easy-to-install, wireless, and battery-powered device that helps protect your home and family from potential dangers. Designed for improved compatibility with the Ring Alarm Security System and other certified Z-Wave systems, this 2-in-1 detector can keep you informed through mobile alerts in the event of an emergency.

The Z-Wave Plus Smart Start feature provides a faster and more intuitive connection of the device to the hub, allowing for on-boarding via a QR code scan located on the device. The detector includes a photoelectric smoke-sensing chamber, an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor, an 85-decibel horn, a tamper-resistant battery door, and a single test/silence button. It is specifically designed for residential and institutional applications, such as sleeping areas in hospitals, hotels, dorms, and multifamily dwellings, as defined in the NFPA 101 standard.

This combination alarm has been fully tested and complies with various safety standards, including UL217, UL2034, CSFM, NFPA 720, NFPA 101, and other relevant codes. It meets building codes that require a battery-operated Z-Wave wireless smoke and carbon monoxide detector, as well as ICC codes. To receive mobile alerts, you will need a Z-Wave Plus gateway hub, so be sure to check with the manufacturer of your Z-Wave hub to ensure compatibility with this First Alert detector.

The front cover design of the alarm may vary, but the product function remains the same. This device is certified to work with Ring and requires the Ring Alarm Base Station to integrate with the Ring system, providing improved compatibility, easier setup, and a seamless in-app experience.

The device operates within a temperature range of 40°F (4°C) to 100°F (38°C) and a humidity range of 10% to 95% relative humidity (RH). Receive real-time notifications in the Ring App when smoke or carbon monoxide is detected, but do not insert the batteries into your First Alert alarm until prompted by the Ring app.

This battery-powered smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm is certified to work with smart home systems such as Ring Alarm Base Station, Samsung SmartThings, and Nexia Home Intelligence when connected to a Z-Wave Plus gateway hub (sold separately; not compatible with Wink or Onelink).
